We had a most excellent time cupping coffee with Shawn Steimen, author of “The Hawai’i Coffee Book – A Gourmet’s Guide from Kona to Kaua’i”. All coffees were from Downtown Coffee- 1. Organic Sumatra Mandheling 2. Kaua’i Estate Reserve 3. Costa Rica Terazzu and 4. Yemen Mocca Sanani. Great learning experience – we are SURE to do more in the future.

Fair Trade Oraganic Sumatra Gayo Mountain

We have an awesome addition to our coffee bean family. It’s Fair Trade Organic Sumatra Gayo Mountain.

Body: High (5/5)
Acidity: Low-Medium (2/5)
Elevation: 1200 m / 3,937 ft.
Certification: Organic
Taste Profile: Heavy-bodied with deep, earthy tones and hints of berry in the finish. 
  
Also since the Yemen Mocca Sanani has a been a hit by it self, making the oldest know blend on earth (so they say), the Mocha Java, is the next thing on the roasting radar. Anxious to try it out…

Royal Select Espresso Decaf came in on friday 6/27, and roasted the same day. All those DC Americano, DC Espresso, DC Latte, DC Mocha and Cap customers are in for a upgrade in taste.

We are Open!

Aloha and welcome! Downtown Coffee is finally open! After many days of being closed, we are tossing the portafilters and extracting crema! Making great Lattes and Traditional Caps.

If you have a chance, come on down and check us out.


Oh and by the way – all our drinks are double shots. We take pride in our freshly roasted Espresso Blend (the Downtown Blend), and hate serving huge frothy drinks made mostly of milk. Sorry, no 20 oz. lattes..
